Not sure of your face shape?
Tie your hair back and stand close to a bathroom mirror. Trace the outline of your face on the glass with a bar of soap or an old lipstick. Step back and compare: which is widest, your forehead, cheekbones or jaw? And is your face clearly longer than it is wide?

Face shape is only one of six things
Real faces are rarely a textbook shape, and the right frame depends on much more than the outline:
- Your brow line, and where it should sit against the top of the frame.
- Your bridge. The wrong bridge width makes frames slide down or pinch, whatever the shape.
- How far apart your eyes are, which decides the ideal lens width.
- Your colouring. Frame colour sits right next to your eyes, so undertone matters as much as shape.
- Your hairstyle, your prescription's lens thickness, and your lifestyle.
